Documentation from Puslich Papers Feb 24 1848 Duncan McFarlane swore before John Hammersely that Duncan Stewart has been the owner and in occupation of the front half of Lot 27 in the 7th since the month of May 1840 but he is now deceased. Crown to John Haist, Jan. 3, 1853; John Munro, Ross-shire 1808-1890; came in 1850 to Puslinch. He was a man of great personal activity and before the advent of railways, when the country was new he frequently walked to Galt or Guelph and back the same day. m. Joseph Bauman Jr. was born in the state of Ohio or Pennsylvania in 1818-1819. He Joseph Bowman 1856; & 1861; D. McKenzie 1877 1885 split between A. Bauman & M Fahrner. Joseph Sr. & Jr. in 1871; He was still there 1879-80. Joseph Bauman Sr's son Anthony (Andy) 1864-1954 remained on the homestead where he lived and worked most of his life. He used to go out with the stumpers when he was young and would play the accordion in the evenings. He married Teresa Albright from Bruce Co. Their children were Harry 1887-1978; Elmer, 1901-1951; 1950 owned by Anthony Bowman, who was believed to be 94 years of age. After Andy's death the children remained on the farm until 1960 when Florence and Harry sold to Ted Carroll and his wife Myrtle Winer. Their children were Suzanne, James and Nancy. The
first settler was from Hanover, Germany. November 10, 1865 Matthew and brother
Bernhard Fahrner bought this lot from John Smith 1856 and farmed 50 acres each.
Then Barney sold his fifty to Matthew and went to Michigan c1877. 1885 M.
Fahrner. After Matthew's death his sons sold to Luigi (Louie) Negro 1911. He in
turn sold to Donald McMillan in 1914. 1923 D. McMillan; his son James and wife
Donalda MacDonald next farmed; children
James, George, Beverley and Neil. Jim
