Lot 5 Tom Lynch; 1877 J. Marshall 1885-1950 J.Howitt Lot 6 John & George Patterson took it up in the 30's George 1867 George & John Patterson had lots 6 & 7, and sold to F.W. Stone who had both lots in 1877-1885; he sold to James Howitt in 1890, who leased to John & Ellen McGill who were there 1890-1927. G. McGill & W. Deakin on lot 6, 7. 1950 Archie Moody, lots 6,7 Wm. Porter bought lot 7 in 1830's. Patterson & Stone from lot 6 also owned this lot. C. McGill on lot 7; In 1950: Archie Moody Early documentation Joseph Laird lots 8 & 9. The Laird family date back to John Laird who emigrated from Scotland, to Donegal Ireland about 1770., and there m. Margaret Brown. On lot 8 a house built here and an unused cattle shed. Lairds came among the first settlers. Joseph, 1777-1830 from 5 miles from Londonderry took up 500 acres, lot 7-10. He got the land from Peter Robertson @ 10\s per acre on condition of settlement. Three months after settling, he died, (buried in old Guelph Cemetery)- later Woodlawn) leaving a widow and 7 children. Mrs Laird, nee Margaret Armour, who d 1862, with Hamilton, (1820-1882) m Sarah McWilliams; James 1824-; , and Joseph ( d age 70) and four daughters Mrs. John Patterson, Mrs. George Patterson, Mrs. Robert Cook, Hamilton, and Mrs. James Gibson, courageously carried on. Pinder. 1950 W. Wright Patrick Carroll bought it, the
second lot to be sold in Puslinch and married Margaret Allen Oct 15, 1832 but
nothing more is known of them. Early documentation has lot 10 sold Dec 30,1830
to John Patterson. Joseph Laird took lot 10.1867.
This property remained in the Laird
family till about 1950. Robert Cook 1871- 75 lived on part 10 where John
Dooley 1950 lives. He has a
well-equipped poultry farm. Edward Crawley had 50 acres out of lot 10. 1885 J.
